1. Join The Obesity Society While You Register

The math is simple: Membership in The Obesity Society + ObesityWeek member registration costs LESS THAN ObesityWeek non-member registration. And on top of that, you get access to member benefits like the Obesity Journal and monthly Grand Round CME webinars for a whole year, as well as discounts on continuing education courses.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are new to The Obesity Society,  join while you are registering for ObesityWeek, here on this website. Don’t go to obesity.org to join and then come back here to register because there is a delay between the two systems. If you joined on obesity.org and the conference system doesn’t yet know you are a member, please email [email protected] to add your new membership into the conference registration system.

2. Foundations of Obesity Care Pre-conference Course

Make your travel plans to arrive Friday evening to attend the weekend Foundations of Obesity Care Course immediately preceding ObesityWeek 2024, where primary care physicians, academics, and inter-professional team members explore the complexities of effectively treating obesity. This continuing medical education event delves into the multifaceted nature of obesity, addressing its status as both a disease and a significant contributor to chronic conditions. Gain invaluable insights as we delve into weight bias recognition, weight history assessment, and identification of primary and secondary causes of obesity. Discover the key elements of assessing obesity-related complications such as NAFLD, PCOS, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and chronic kidney disease; and learn how to properly employ first-level anti-obesity medications. Explore metabolic-bariatric surgical options and establish long-term management expectations. Expand your clinical knowledge, connect with leading experts, and gain the confidence to effectively treat patients with overweight or obesity in this concise weekend course. Sign up for this course in the ObesityWeek registration system.

3. ObesityWeek Track 5 and Exam Prep Sub-track

Register for the in-person ObesityWeek conference Sunday-Wednesday, November 3-6 and consider focusing on the Track 5 Clinical Practice sessions and those in the Exam Prep sub-track to get the most out of your time. Symposia and Key Lectures feature world-renown experts including medical school faculty and principle investigators from clinical trials. Check the interactive program to see all conference sessions.

4. ObesityWeek OnDemand

There are up to 7 concurrent sessions happening in every time block during ObesityWeek. If you go to a session during every time block, you’ll see about 20 hours of the more than 100 hours of content, approximately 85 hours of which are continuing medical education (CME). For only $125, you can add OnDemand to your ObesityWeek registration and have access to everything you missed! There’s a catch, though: you must add this to your conference registration by the end of the conference (November 6) to get the special $125 rate. After, it goes up to $650 member/$925 non-member. OnDemand access of the 2024 conference runs January-December 2025. Purchase in the ObesityWeek registration system.

5. Clinical Consultation Workshops

Some of the most renown expert clinicians speaking at ObesityWeek will host small-group clinical consultation workshops. Bring your hardest cases to consult with experts, or learn from their case experiences. Workshops are free with your ObesityWeek registration, but ticketed to limit the number of participants. Special Note: Workshops can ONLY be experienced in-person. They are not included in the OnDemand recordings. CME and ABIM MOC are offered for clinical consultation workshops. Get tickets in the ObesityWeek registration system.

6. All New Review Course for the ABOM Exam

Want to get board-certified in obesity medicine? Consider sitting for the American Board of Obesity Medicine Exam (ABOM). The test content is changing for the 2025 exam, and The Obesity Society is launching an all-new, on-demand Review Course to prepare physicians for the new exam! The ABOM application deadline is in the summer every year, and the exam takes place in the fall, so you have plenty of time to study. You can pre-order this course in your ObesityWeek registration or at obesity.org/on-demand starting Fall 2024.

Keep in mind that ALL Obesity Society CME count for ABOM Group One credits, including the CME you earn at ObesityWeek, at the Foundations of Obesity Treatment Couse, in monthly Grand Round webinars, and in this all-new Review Course.
