Mastery of Obesity Care Course
The Mastery of Obesity Care Course is the second installment in a comprehensive, two-part educational series developed to advance the clinical skills of healthcare professionals treating obesity. Building upon the foundational principles introduced in the Foundations of Obesity Care—available as an on-demand course at obesityweek.org/foundations—this in-person program is designed for experienced clinicians, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician associates, academics, and interprofessional care team members.
Held over two days in Atlanta, GA, November 3–4, 2025, the 12.5-hour CME course features an in-depth curriculum covering advanced pathophysiology of obesity, metabolic assessment, identification of adipose tissue disorders, and evidence-based pharmacologic, endoscopic, and surgical treatment strategies. The agenda includes sessions on nutrition science, genetics, and precision medicine, reflecting the latest advances in the field.
A highlight of the program is its applied, case-based learning component, where faculty lead participants through complex clinical scenarios involving sleep disorders, type 2 diabetes, MASLD (including MASH and liver transplantation considerations), cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, cancer, psychiatric illness, and PCOS. These sessions promote clinical reasoning and real-world problem-solving to enhance patient-centered care.
This course is a ticketed event at the 2025 ObesityWeek® conference. All in-person course registrants will also receive on-demand recordings of the course at no additional fee. This course confers up to 12.5 CME credits that count toward ABIM MOC credits. This and all CME events produced by The Obesity Society count towards Group One credit when applying for the American Board of Obesity Medicine exam. The Obesity Society is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
